The first time some of us ventured to the far end of the tunnel, but we could not get entirely through due to a pond at the far end and lots of ice stalagmites! Into the breech once more for the Probus Hiking Group, on a very cold and windy day at Queenston Heights.  The joys of hiking in what felt like sub-arctic weather in Short Hills Park. Happy hikers walking to balls falls on 16 December  From the Steve Bauer Trail the wooded area north of Rice Road gets into a surreal ridge and gully area.  A group of happy hikers enjoying a sunny day in the woods and the fall colours. Cycling group members are now joining the Hiking group until spring when the weather is more favourable for riding .  The September 12th hike from Rockway to Short Hills Park lived up to its description of being strenuous with some steep grades and 9 km distance.  |
